Also on this day in America in 1973, President Nixon announced that an end to the Vietnam War had been reached. Lastly on this day in America in 1957, the Wham-O toy company released the first ever Frisbee; based off the practice by Connecticut College Students who threw around empty pie plates from the Frisbee Baking Company, Wham-O bought the patent for the pie plates and released the iconic Frisbee.
