4 Implicit Things Learned from the State of the Union Address

While Tuesday night's State of the Union Address was not worth watching, since it was the same political talking points and optimism that is always prevalent in Washington D.C., for they seem determined to remain completely unhinged from reality. With the best example of this from last night's speech being when Barack Obama laughed at the millions of Americans who have lost or are about to lose their health insurance because of Obamacare, and saying "kids, call your mom and walk her through the application. It will giver he some peace of mind - plus, she'll appreciate hearing from you." As if first of all we don't love our mother's enough to call them, and second of all as if a mother hearing from her kids will more than make up for the fact that she just got screwed by Obamacare. Especially since if she is a mother who needs help from her kids to acquire new health insurance she is most likely older and on a fixed income, which means she can't afford the new higher prices of Obamacare insurance. Yet, if this minor blip in the President's speech is still not enough to convince you how unhinged from reality President Barack Obama has become and how much he truly doesn't care about us the little people, here are the 4 implicit things that we learned from the President's State of the Union Address Tuesday.

1 - "Let's see if the numbers add up" - Securities Fraud and The National Debt

The President Tuesday night spoke about America as being "better positioned for the 21st century than any other nation on Earth." A statement followed by rhetoric on how we need to flex our financial muscle and raise the minimum wage for federal contract workers to $10.10 an hour; spend more on our broken education system; add more unskilled labour to the over-populated labour force, thanks to the Obama economy, through immigration reform; spend more on infrastructure; spend more on green energy businesses that go bankrupt like Solyndra; spend more to combat climate change so that our children won't have to live in a world without snow [or the opposite]; lend money to universities to reduce tuition costs, even though as study after study has shown government subsidies are why tuition is so high in the first place; and my personal favorite, since it was said by a Leftist, give more research money to big evil drug corporations so that they can continue to produce better medicine.

All in all, the President clearly believes that money is no object, and either that the National Debt Clock on Sixth Avenue Street in New York is a funny prank; that we should all speak Chinese one day, you know so we can all learn to be more multicultural; or in what Joe Biden once said, "that we need to spend money to keep from going bankrupt," not make money by unleashing the economy through cutting taxes, but spend money. With whatever the truth being, being the wrong direction for America and the wrong direction for man's freedom. Since as Thomas Jefferson so eloquently stated "the modern theory of the perpetuation of debt has drenched the earth in blood, and crushed its inhabitants under burdens ever accumulating;" for as Kipling wrote, you can't escape the gods of the copybook headings.

Yet, if the President's clear and blatant disregard for the American taxpayer and the fiscal crisis of the United States is not enough to convince you of the President's complete ignorance of reality, the President proposed something called the myRA. A concept that in the real-world is equivalent to securities fraud, and is one that if any other institution besides the government were to propose, you would rightfully laugh out loud over its incredulity. Since as the President stated, the myRA "guarantees a decent return with no risk of losing what you put in." So what makes the government different than any other institution that might offer this, well while Obama conveniently left this part out, it is the fact that the government can either weaken the U.S. dollar further through printing money to guarantee everyone's principles, or they can simply raise your taxes and steal more of your money from you to insure that everyone's principles can be guaranteed. Thus again, whichever the case, it is the wrong direction for America and the wrong direction for man's freedom.

2 - All Hail the Dictator

So as I'm sure you have heard, President Obama has not lived up to his campaign lie (sorry, promise) of 2008 to run the most transparent government since George Washington's, nor has he upheld his oath of office and implemented the law faithfully, nor has he followed the Constitution; but besides those three minuscule things our benevolent dictator is committed "to making Washington work better." Well, knock on wood, I can tell the President one thing, that while I'm sure because he is so brilliant and so he will find a way, it would be really difficult to make it work any worse. Since as the latest polls indicate, with only 42% approving of the President, a meager 21% approving of Congress, 40% disapproving and rejecting both political parties, and with over 68% of Americans stating that they feel stagnant or worse off than when Obama took office at the height of the 2008 collapse; the system is clearly broken and the trust of the America people in their government is simply no longer existent.

Yet, instead of Congress and the President attempting to pool their collective I.Q.s together so that they can actually reach the average intelligence level of a human being, the President stated instead that because "America does not stand still- neither will I. So wherever and whenever I can take steps without legislation to expand opportunity for more American families, that's what I'm going to do." In other words I'm committed to making Washington work better by getting rid of the Constitutional Republic of our Founders and replacing it with a highly efficient benevolent dictatorship. Again, the wrong direction for America, and definitely the wrong direction for man's freedom.

3 - I Got Nothing

To be honest, the State of the Union Address given by Barack Obama last night may have flown if this was his first, instead of his sixth. Since getting construction workers back to work through executive orders, reforming job training programs so that they work better, closing Guantanamo Bay, redoubling our nation's efforts to create jobs and expand the economy for everyone are all cogent ideas that have support. Yet, the problem is that many of these things he could have done yesterday, and so it speaks to his ineffectiveness as President, his lack of belief in these policies, and to his lack of vision for the nation. Since besides securities fraud through the myRA, there was not one new policy idea that President Obama presented last night. Again the wrong leader for America, and the wrong leader for man's freedom.

4 - America is indeed Exceptional... but Historically Communist?

However, despite all the negatives, lies and blatant craziness that spilled out of the President's mouth last night, this last implicit message from the State of the Union address was by far the least coherent. Since ever since Obama made his famous comment against American exceptionalism, stating instead that " I believe in American exceptionalism, just as I believe the Brits believe in British exceptionalism, and the Greeks believe in Greek exceptionalism." In other words, there is nothing truly unique about America, and that the belief in exceptionalism is simply one that is common to any group of people amongst which there is nationalism. The American people have rightfully questioned Obama's national pride and belief in America.

Yet, last night the President went on the national record and contradicted himself in a very good way, by stating instead:

My fellow Americans, no other country in the world does what we do. On every issue, the world turns to us, not simply because of the size of our economy or our military might – but because of the ideals we stand for, and the burdens we bear to advance them.

In other words, we are indeed an exceptional nation, one whose character is unlike any other because of the principles that we have always stood for and paid any price to further.

However, while this was a monumental breakthrough for the President and one that should be applauded, I think he needs a quick history lesson. Since what he believes made America exceptional, flew in the face of American history and the principles America was founded on, freedom and individualism. Since what made America exceptional, according to President Obama Tuesday night, was that yes, "sometimes we stumble; we make mistakes; we get frustrated or discouraged. But [just like in the Soviet Union] for more than two hundred years, we have put those things aside and placed our collective shoulder to the wheel of progress - to create and build and expand the possibilities of individual achievement."

In other words, the growth in the collective force of government is what has made America exceptional, and it is large powerful government that has allowed the individual to thrive and achieve great things in this nation's history. Look, if that is the communist country that President Barack Obama wants to turn America into that is his business and his personal prerogative, but please Mr. President at least be honest enough to not attempt to assert that America was founded on the idea, not that freedom is what allows the individual to succeed, but big government collectivism is. Since that is flat out not true, as is evidenced quite extensively by the Federalist Papers of 1788.

Yet, as bad as that was, the statement itself, even if it had been historically accurate of the United States' history, is not coherent. Since big government collectivism throughout human history, from Russia, to Germany, to China, to wherever else it has been tried, has never protected the individual. Since it is based on the understanding that it is necessary and moral, not to protect the individual, but to kill any individual that threatens the conformity of the collective and thus the power of the collective's masters, which is why it has always resulted in mass graves of civilians. Again Mr. President, the wrong history, the wrong direction for America, and the wrong direction for man's freedom.
